Erik Suojanen has lived in the Tampa Bay area for 30 years. He and his wife Colleen have built Suojanen Enterprises, Inc. into a very successful company during the past 25 years. Erik graduated from high school in Calumet, Michigan in 1980. He attended Northern Michigan University for three semesters and found that college was not for him. He left college, worked in Wyoming for a short time, and then moved to Florida where his grandparents resided.

Erik was then hired by a local plumbing company as a plumber’s helper. After a year and a half, he was offered a position as a deck hand with Crusader Fisheries in Kodiak, Alaska. Erik took the position and worked in the Bering Sea for three years. After tiring of the long periods at sea, he came back to Florida and purchased Apple Polishing, a car polishing franchise. He went out of business within three months, but learned some very valuable lessons. Having little money and needing a job, Erik was fortunate enough to be hired by a friend who owned a small company. Erik worked his way into a position of responsibility in a short time and stayed with Dahir Plumbing until obtaining his Florida Master Plumber’s license in 1989.

Together with wife Colleen, Erik is raising a beautiful family while building a very successful business. The partnership that they enjoy has been one of respect, cooperation, and balance. Erik’s philosophy is such that everything is based on respect – for every living thing. Erik and Colleen intend to bring this same philosophy and balance to their new venture, The Pampering Plumber and their newest venture, Gill Dawg!

Colleen Suojanen has been living in the Tampa Bay area for over 35 years. She, along with husband Erik, started “Plumbers” of Suojanen Enterprises, Inc. in 1990. Colleen began working in the hospitality industry upon her graduation from high school. She met and married Erik in 1988 and together they started the first of several successful businesses. She has taken her training in hospitality and had been implementing it in home repair with Plumbers of Suojanen Enterprises, The Pampering Plumber and their newest venture Gill Dawg.

Over the years, Colleen has been able to balance her personal responsibilities with the responsibilities of a growing business at a very successful level. She has a beautiful family and a very successful company, which was built from a couple trucks and a cell phone into a multi-million dollar enterprise generating more than $150 million in sales over the past 23 years. With Colleen’s experience in running the Plumbers of Suojanen Enterprises showroom, her product knowledge, and her technical expertise, it is only natural that she start a plumbing company geared toward women.

Colleen is recognized as one of the most knowledgeable people in the local plumbing industry… and she’s a woman building a plumbing company for women.

Brett Krumenacker is the son of a plumber who owned a small family business. He grew up working in the trade on weekends, holidays, and summers from the time he was a young teen. Brett earned his A.A.S. degree in Industrial Engineering from Nassau Community College followed by a B.S. in Industrial Engineering and Education from Oswego State University.

After graduating from college, Brett took a position as an Industrial Arts teacher with the Plainedge School District in New York State. During his tenure as an educator, Brett continued to work holidays and summers in the plumbing trade. While studying vocational education in graduate school at City College of New York in the evenings, Brett was able to use his trade experience to gain a certification in the field of construction with an emphasis on plumbing. Brett maintains this certification to this day.

While teaching, Brett started a vocational work-study program for the school district and he took over operations of the family business due to his father’s retirement. Brett operated KPH Mechanical for five years before selling the business to one of his employees and moving to Cape Coral, Florida. KPH Mechanical is still in operation to this day.

Brett became a state certified Master Plumber (License CFC048268) in Florida in 1989. He started, owned, and successfully operated KPI Plumbing in Cape Coral, Florida until 1995 when he moved to Tampa and joined the staff of Suojanen Enterprises. Brett started with the firm as a field supervisor; and for the past three years he has held the position of Vice President of Construction.

Brett is a very important member of our team at both “Plumbers” of Suojanen Enterprises and The Pampering Plumber. Brett is simply the “go to” man for any technical situation. His people skills and management style have helped to mold Suojanen Enterprises, Inc into one of the most well respected companies in the Tampa Bay area.

Briana Suojanen is the daughter of Erik and Colleen Suojanen. She was born the same year the Suojanen Company was established and therefore, has been around the plumbing industry for her entire life. Briana began working summers with her family’s business when she was young – filing, making follow up calls, etc. In 2006, she began working in the showroom as a salesperson after school.

Briana graduated from River Ridge High School as an honor student, class president, and a member of the school’s thespian organization. She attended the University of South Florida and completed her Bachelor’s in Finance. Upon graduating, she was promoted to Assistant Controller.

Briana enjoys singing and acting, being on the water and enjoying the outdoors with family and friends.

Todd, our Purchasing Manager, is a native of the Tampa Bay area and graduated from the University of South Florida in 1993. He has been in the plumbing industry for over 15 years and all of years have been right here in the local area. Todd is a devoted father and enjoys hanging out with his kids. He enjoys golf, taking his children to Disney and going to see the local sport teams.

John is originally from Pittburgh, PA.  He attended Allegheny County Community College as a business major and has a background in general construction.  He’s owned and managed rental properties, and is also an ASHI Certified Home Inspector, as well as, a State Certified WDO Inspector.  He’s worked in the security industry for 8 years and the water treatment industry for 4 years.

Brittany was born and raised in Florida and enjoys it so much that she has never been able to convince herself to leave!  In her free time, she loves to spend time with her family on the water and fishing.

Brittany’s favorite part about her position is the connection that is made during a phone call.  She loves being able to put the customer at ease while reassuring them that they can always rely on us.  Helping others in need is what she treasures most.  She chose to get into the customer service field because she’s a very outgoing person and she feels it has opened doors for new partnerships and opportunities

Eddie Gause was born in Tarpon Springs, Fl. He started working in the plumbing industry in 1982 and passed the Pinellas county journeyman’s test in 1986. Eddie is licensed in Backflow Prevention Assemblies. He is an honest, hard worker with extensive knowledge in water softening, tankless water heating, commercial and residential plumbing. He has found a good home with The Pampering Plumber and has been working with them since 1998.

Art Rears started his plumbing career in New Hampshire in 1985. He received his journeyman’s license in 1989 and in the same year moved to Florida. Art has been with the Pampering Plumber since 2010 and he loves his customers and his fellow employees.

Keith is from Long Island, New York and enjoys cooking in his free time.  He started working in the plumbing industry back in 1993 because his father was a plumber and he get’s satisfaction in fixing things for people.  His #1 bucket list goal is to visit the Midwest!
